Cleaning Procedure for Planetory Mixer

1. Purpose :
This procedure explains how to clean Planetory mixer.
Cleaning is an important process which avoids cross contamination.

2. Scope :
2.1. Cleaning is an important process which avoids cross contamination.
2.2. This procedure needs to be performed whenever the manufacturing process is
completed.

3. Responsibility :

Production Supervisor
Production Executive

4. Materials & Equipments :
Liquid Soap Solution
Nylon brush
Clean Lint free cloth
Potable Water
Purified Water
Scrubber

5. Procedure :
5.1. Lift the beater assembly up.
5.2. Switch off the Mains and disconnect the power cord.
5.3. Ensure that the equipment is possessing ‘ TO BE CLEANED ‘status label.
Remove the label and attach the same to the BMR.
5.4. Dismantle the beater from the main shaft.
5.5.Remove the bowl from the cradle. Wash the beater and bowl with water to remove the
powders/ granules adhering to their surfaces.
5.6. Scrub the beater and bowl, with liquid soap solution and wash with potable water.
Inspect for their cleanliness. If cleanliness is satisfactory, rinse with purified water
and wipe with clean dry cloth.
5.7. Clean the roof of the mixing chamber with scrubber using liquid soap solution. Clean with water and examine for the absence of any powder sticking. If cleanliness is satisfactory, rinse with purified water and wipe with clean dry cloth.
5.8. Wipe the remaining exterior parts – base and cover of motor, Reduction gear with detergent/liquid soap using wet cloth followed by dry cloth.
5.9. The above cleaned parts are dried with wiping with lint free cloth and reassembled in the reverse order.
5.10.Production Supervisor to check the cleanliness of the equipment.
5.11.Maintain the logbook signed by the person who does the work counter signed by the Production Supervisor/Production Executive.
5.12.Inform QA for their approval.
5.13.Affix the ‘CLEANED AND READY FOR USE’ status label after the completion of
cleaning.
5.14.Cover the equipment with poly liner if it is not used immediately.
