7.0 PURPOSE

8.0 SCOPE
To describe procedures to prevent potential losses by identifying exposures, assessing the potential impact and where applicable, recommending action to limit the risk.
9.0 PROCEDURE
9.1 Storage Arrangements
9.1.1 For the wooden pallets storage the following conditions shall apply:
a. Stack no higher than 1.8m.
b. Each grouping of 3 pallets stacks shall be separated from other 3 pallets grouping by 1.4m of clear space or 7.6m of other store commodity.
c. Stacks are to be correctly centered to avoid any accident.
9.1.2 Plastic / wooden pallet or expanded polystyrene storage shall be stacked no higher than 1.2 m.
9.1.3 Each pallet pile or expanded polystyrene shall be separated from other pallet piles by at least 2.4m of clear space or 7.6m of store commodity.
9.1.4 All material goods should be stored in warehouse at least 3 ft. from the wall.
9.1.5 Follow the SOP-Good Warehouse Practice (INM-64-007) for proper storage and arrangement of goods/material.

B) Classification based on – The chemical Accidents Rules, 1996,Part-II, Group 5-FLAMMABLE CHEMICALS, Pg. 639, Green book.
i. Flammable gas: Substances which in gaseous state at normal pressure and mixed with air become flammable and boiling point of which is 20 ¬o C.
ii. Highly Flammable Liquid: Substances, which have a flash point lower than 23 ¬oC.
iii. Flammable Liquid: Substances, which have a flash point, lower than 65¬¬o C and which remains liquid under pressure, where particular processing conditions such as high pressure and high temperature, ma y create major accident.
9.3.3 All flammable / combustible or hazardous liquids / gases used in the process or for the production purposes shall be kept to a minimum. Any quantity beyond daily needs should be stored outside the facility or inside the flammable cabinet(s).
9.1 Regular Warehouse Inspection
