CLEANING OF SAMPLING EQUIPMENT

1.0. PURPOSE
To provide a procedure for cleaning of sampling equipment.
2.0 SCOPE:
Applicable to all sampling equipment
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:
QC. Chemists
4.0. ACCOUNTABILITY:
Manager-Quality Control
5.0. DEFINITION:
To ensure the effective cleanliness of the Sampling Equipment to avoid cross-contamination to the next material.
6.0. PROCEDURE
6.1. After sampling, all sampling accessories and Sampling equipment shall be brought to the washing area.
6.2. Sampling Equipment shall be first rinsed with running tap water.
6.3. After rinsing with tap water, equipment should be rinsed/cleaned with 0.1% Sodium Lauryl Sulphate solution using a nylon brush.
6.4. Wash thoroughly with tap water to remove traces of sodium lauryl sulphate.
6.6. Equipment shall be rinsed with purified water and kept for drying.
