RECEIVING AND SHIPPING DOCK SAFETY

This procedure is applicable to the Xxx (India) Pvt. Ltd., Xxx Plant only.

5.0 PURPOSE
This policy is to ensure that our facility loading and unloading docks are operated safely.

6.0 SCOPE
To ensure the safety of man and material during receiving and shipping in the dock.

9.0 PROCEDURES

9.1 When the container attached to the prime mover and located at the dock for delivery or picking up goods (loading-unloading), the engine of the prime mover must be turned off and key has to be removed and be kept by the driver. The dock and container will be adjusted to same level. When forklift need to enter a container, wedge / stopper must be provided to the wheels of the prime mover.

9.2 Wheels of the truck must be wedged using a wheel and the chassis is adjusted to the ground level. Once it is completed, loading or unloading can then commence.

9.3 When the container is to be removed from the dock area, the driver is required to check and confirmed there is no loading or unloading and the door of the container is closed and the wheel wedges has been removed.

9.4 At the receiving area, no forklift is allowed beyond the yellow line drawn on site except for loading and unloading of container goods that are using slip-sheet.
