To provide a written procedure for Health and Hygiene.

This procedure is applicable for maintaining proper Health and Hygiene of all the employees working in the company

PROCEDURE:
6.1
HEALTH :
6.1.1
Insist on minimum health requirement.
6.1.2
Arrange Medical Examination annually with a registered Medial Practitioner and do the tests as mentioned in SOP for medical examination .XXXXXXX
6.1.3
Arrange for eye test for the team who are conducting the visual inspections (Define the visual inspection team).
6.1.4
Arrange for Colour blindness test for the people working in Quality Control.
6.1.5
Observe and record whether any employee suffering from infectious diseases like conjunctivitis or severe cold etc.
6.1.6
Insist on Medical fitness certificate if any employee reports to work after medical leave.
6.1.7
Encourage staff to report infectious diseases particularly stomach disorders or respiratory diseases. If yes transfer them to any other department like packing.
6.1.8
Give them training to report to you any infectious disease which occur at their homes.
6.1.7
Give training for the staff to report any boils, open wounds, cuts or lashes. In such cases transfer them to some other department from manufacturing area.
6.2
PERSONNEL CLEANLINESS :
6.2.1
Advice staff to have regular bath and wear clean garments every day.
6.2.2
Train staff that their hands should be cleaned every day and especially after using toilet.
6.2.3
Nails should be clipped regularly.
6.2.4
For cleaning the hand, ask the staff to use carbolic sops like, Lifeboy or Dettol etc. Provide these soaps in the toilets also.
6.2.5
All persons (Whether guests, or employee) should rinse their hands with disinfectant before entering the manufacturing area.
6.2.6
Male Staff
6.2.6.1
Ask staff to clean their hair & it should be well controlled with head cap. Encourage male staff to have clean shave and not keep beards
6.2.7
Female Staff
6.2.7.1
Wearing of jewellery such as bracelets, pendants, rings should be discouraged in manufacturing area.
6.2.7.2
Discourage women in manufacturing areas with nail polish, loose hair & flowers in the hair.
6.2.8
Train them to avoid contact between operator’s bare hand and materials.
6.3
HYGIENIC OPERATIONS :
6.3.1
Food, Drinks must not be consumed in manufacturing, packing, stores & QA department. This includes chewing of pan, betal nuts by personnel in production area.
6.3.2
Smoking is not permitted in production area; storage area, QC Department and other area proven to fire.
6.3.3
Train the staff to keep working area clean & clear.
6.3.5
See that the lockers are clean in cloakroom.
6.4
PROTECTIVE CLOTHING :
6.4.1
Do not allow any person inside the manufacturing area with street cloths. They should be allowed with only protective clothing i.e Company Uniform
6.4.2
Working garments like head cap, nose mask, company footwear etc. must be dressed.
6.4.3
While handling dangerous or volatile solvents personnel must be protected with safety equipments.
6.4.4
Company uniform should not be worn outside the manufacturing area.

Laundering of cloth :
Source of Laundering : In house linen room.
Laundering period : Daily
Mode of washing : By washing machine
Source of water used for washing : Potable water.
6.4.6
Protective clothing must be put correctly. Repair any damages in clothing.
6.4.7
Headgears should cover the hair completely. Beards should be covered completely.
