SOP - CLEANING OF FOOT WEAR

PURPOSE :
This procedure describes the details of cleaning aids and detailed procedure for the cleaning of
Primary and Secondary Footwear.

SCOPE :
Applicable to cleaning of footwear in the production block.
3.0
RESPONSIBILITY:
Housekeeping staff.

PROCEDURE:
6.1
CLEANING AIDS:
6.1.1
Soap solution.
6.1.2
Dettol
6.1.3
Brush.
6.1.4
Lint free duster.
6.2
PRIMARY FOOT WEAR:
6.2.1
Collect all the footwear from the primary footwear lockers in a polythene bag at end of the shift on weekend and take it to the wash area.
6.2.2
Prepare the soap solution by adding 500 ml of liquid soap in 20 liters of water.
6.2.3
Soak the footwear for 10 minutes in soap water solution.
6.2.4
Scrub the footwear surface from outside and inside with brush.
6.2.5
Flush the footwear with clean Potable water.
6.2.6
Prepare disinfectant solution (Dettol) by adding 250 ml of Dettol in 10 liters of water.
6.2.7
Dip the washed footwear in disinfectant solution.
6.2.8
Remove footwear from the disinfectant and keep the footwear in vertical position facing towards wall to drain out the disinfectant solution.
6.2.9
Wipe the footwear surface from inside and outside to remove the disinfectant solution stains with clean lint free duster.
6.2.10
Allow the footwear to dry.
6.2.11
Clean the primary footwear lockers with dry duster.
6.2.12
Place the dried footwear back in cleaned primary footwear lockers.
6.3
SECONDARY FOOTWEAR :
6.3.1
Collect all the footwear from the secondary footwear lockers in a polythene bag at end of the shift on weekend.
6.3.2
Repeat the above steps from 6.2.1 to 6.2.11
6.3.3
Clean the secondary footwear lockers with dry duster.
6.3.4
Place the dried footwear back in cleaned secondary footwear lockers.

Make the entries on the Foot Wear cleaning checklist. HRGN:011:F1
