GENERAL SPECIFICATION OF PACKING MATERIAL CORRUGATED BOX

1.0 PROTOCOLS OF TEST
1 Description : 3 Ply / 5 ply / 7 ply corrugated box having printed with ________ color/colors as per the specimen. Note it in the report sheet.
2 Dimensions : This test includes with
a) Length : Measure the length in inches of 10 currugated boxes individually and note it in the report sheet.
b) Breadth : Mesure the breadth in inches of 10 corrugated boxes individually and note it in the report sheet.
c) Height : Measure the height in inches of 10 corrugated boxes indivudally and note it in the report sheet.
( Limits - For length, Breadth, height should meet as per the specimen with tolerance of ± 1 inch )
3 Average : This test is not applicable for
Weight corrugated box.
4 Thickness : This test is not applicable for Corrugated box.
5 Inner Diameter : This test is not applicable for Corrugated box.
6 Outer Diameter : This test is not applicable for Corrugated box.
7 Text Matter : Check the overprinting matter if any of 10 Corrugated boxes individually. It should meet as per the specimen. Note it in the report sheet.

8 Clean Liness : Check the cleanliness of 10 Corrugated
Check box individually. The test passes if the corrugated boxes are not dirty, mutilated, torn or stained. Note it in the report sheet.
9 Foldings/Flaps : Check the foldings / flaps of 10 corrugated boxes individually to form a complete box slap. Note it in the report sheet.
10 Bursting : Select three corrugated boxes and take
Strength readings on the Bursting Strength Tester of each Corrugated box thrice. See that there is no overlapping. The test passes if the average reading is not less than 9.0 kg/cm2 and individual readings are also within this limit.
11 Grammage : Select one corrugated box and cut a square piece of 12 cm x 12 cm approximately and dip in a hot water bath for several hours till the ply’s are separated. Then dry in a oven and cut a perfect square of 10 cm x 10 cm of each ply in a sequence and weigh. Calculate as per the formula.

2.0 OPINION

2 Dimensions : This test includes with
a) Length : Measure the length in mm of 10 cartons individually and note it in the report sheet.
b) Breadth : Measure the breadth in mm of 10 cartons individually and note it in the report sheet.
c) Height : Measure the heights in mm of 10 cartons individually and note it in the report sheet. (Limits - For length, Breadth, Should meet as per the specimen with tolerance of ± 2 mm )
3 Average : This test is not applicable for

Weight Cartons
4 Thickness : This test is not applicable for Cartons
5 Inner Diameter : This test is not applicable for Cartons
6 Outer Diameter : This test is not applicable for Cartons
7 Text Matter : Check the over printing of 10 cartons individually. It should meet as per the specimen. Note it in the report sheet.
8 Clean : Check the cleanliness of 10 cartons individually. The test passes if the cartons are not dirty, mutilated, torn or stained. Note it in the report sheet.
9 Foldings/Flaps : Check the foldings / flaps of 10 cartons individually to form a complete box shape. Note it in the report sheet.
10 Bursting : This test is applicable to clinical
Strength Cartons only. Take individual reading of 10 cartons on the Bursting Strength Tester in Kg / Cm2, the test passes if the average reading does not differ by more than ± 10% and the individual readings are also within this limit.
11 Grammage : Cut and perfect square piece of 10 cm x 10 cm or 5 cm or 5 cm x 5 cm or less, as per the size of the carton along with its ply if any and weigh. Calculate as per the formula.

a) Length : Measure the length in mm of 10 labels individually and note.
b) Breadth : Measure the in mm of 10 labels individually and note.
c) Height : This test is not applicable for labels
( Limits - For length, Breadth, should meet as per the specimen
label with tolerance of ± 2 mm, ± 5 mm, or as specified in
the specimen report sheet ).
3 Average : This test is not applicable for labels
Weight
4 Thickness : This test is not applicable for labels
5 Inner Diameter : This test is not applicable for labels
6 Outer Diameter : This test is not applicable for labels

GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS FOR PACKING MATERIAL - JARS

1.0 PROTOCOLS OF TEST
1 Description : White colored rectangular shape HDPE jars having grooves on two sides and having round threaded neck with the capaicty to accommodate N no of Tablets Capsules.
2 Dimensions : This test includes
a) Length : Measure the length in “mm” of 10 jars individually and note it in the report sheet.
b) Breadth : Measure the breadth in “mm” of 10 jars individually and note it in the report sheet.
c) Height : Measure the total height in “mm” of 10 jars individually and note it in the report sheet.
( Limits - For length, Breadth, height should meet as per the specimen with the tolerance of ± 10 mm )
3 Average : Weigh 10 jars individually without
Weight cap and calculate its average wt. Itshould meet as per the specimen with tolerance of ± 5.0 g and note more than 1 jar shows deviation from this limit.
4 Thickness : This test is not applicable for jars.
5 Inner Diameter : Measure the inner diameter of 10 jars individually from the top most edge. It should meet as par the specimen with tolerance of ± 2 mm.
6 Outer Diameter : Measure the outer diameter of 10 jars individually from the the top most edge. It should meet as par the specimen with tolerance of ± 2 mm.
7 Text Matter : This test is not applicable for jars.
8 Clean : Check the cleanliness of 10 jars individually. The test passes if the jars are not dirty or do not contain foreign particles in it. Note it in the report sheet.
9 Foldings/Flaps : This test is not applicable for jars.
10 Bursting : This test is not applicable for jars.
Strength
11 Grammage : This test is not applicable for jars.
12 Over flow : Fill the jars with water till it
Volume reaches its maximum capacity to overflow. Then drain this water into a calibrated cylinder and measure the volume in ml. The test passes. If it meets as per the specimen with a tolerance of ± 20 ml. Carry out this test on 10 jas individually.
13 Threading : Check the threading of 10 jars individually. All 10 jars should be O.K.
2.0 OPINION
The sample complies if it meets all the requirements stated above. The same does not comply if it fails to meet any of the requirements stated above.
