1.0. OBJECTIVE
To lay down the procedure for the operation of pass box.
2.0 SCOPE
This SOP is applicable to Quality Control Department, Formulations Units.

5.0 CLEANING PROCEDURE
5.1 Ensure that the electrical connection is disconnected.
5.2 Open the door from inside (LAF room) and sanitize the internal surface of the box with previously filtered isopropyl alcohol (70%) or 2.5% Savlon solution .
5.3 Clean the UV light with wet mop of previously filtered isopropyl alcohol .
5.4 Daily clean the external surface of the pass box with dry mop immediately before and after use.
6.0 PROCEDURE
6.1 Connect the power plug to a suitable power socket having proper earthing.
6.2 Put ‘ON’ the switch , indicator lamps on the pass box glow with “GREEN” OR “RED” Colour indicator.
6.3 If “GREEN” lamp glows then the door will get unlock and for entry of materials.
6.4 If “ RED” indicator lamp glows indicates that the door is in locked position and will not open .
6.5 Ensure that the doors are closed properly before use & after use. If the doors are opened alarm indicates both doors are open in condition.
6.6 Put ‘ON’ the red Colour switch situated at right side at the top of the pass box to start UV light for 30 minutes before and after use.
6.7 Record the UV light burning hours in register.
7.0 PRECAUTIONS
7.1 Ensure that the UV light is not glowing while opening the door.
7.2 Ensure that the pass pox doors closed properly.
7.3 Do not open the doors on both sides at the same time to avoid contamination.
