ANALYTICAL REFERENCE NUMBERING SYSTEM - SOP

1.0 PURPOSE :

To lay down a standard procedure to describe the steps to be followed for Analytical reference numbering system for all the products analyzed in Quality control department

2.0 SCOPE:

This SOP is applicable to all the products analyzed in Quality control department

3.0 RESPONSIBILITY:

Quality Assurance department

4.0 ACCOUNTABILITY:

Quality Assurance Head

6.0 PROCEDURE:

6.1 Analytical Reference Numbering System

6.1.1 Analytical Reference should be given as follow
‘WXYZ’

6.1.2 Where,
‘W’ denotes the single alphabet for the location. ‘H’ for Hosur.



6.1.3
‘X’ indicates the two-digit alphabet code of the material to be tested. i.e.

‘RM’ for raw material
‘PM’ for packing material.
‘FP’ for finished product.
‘IM’ for In-process material
‘NV’ for New vendor
‘VL’ for validation.

6.1.4 ‘Y’ indicates last digit of year.

e.g. “3” for 2003, “4” for 2004 and so on…

6.1.5 ‘Z’ indicates four-digit numerical serial number starting from 0001.

e.g. HRM30001
