7.0 PURPOSE
To establish procedure for driver safety

8.0 SCOPE
The intent of this policy is to provide specific guidance for the company driver and employees, contractors and visitors who drive on the company premises

9.0 PROCEDURE

9.1 Licensed Driver
No one shall drive a motor vehicle of any class anywhere within Xxx’s premises unless the possesses a valid driving license issued by RTO (Road Transport Authority) of India or its equivalent authorizing him to drive a motor vehicle of that class.

9.2 License Maintenance
It is the responsibility of the company drivers to ensure that a valid license is maintained and renewed for the class of vehicles they are driving. Company drivers who lose their license must notify their supervisor immediately.

9.3 Traffic Rules
At all times, employees, contractors & visitors who drive on the company premises and company drivers shall comply with the traffic signs on site and the traffic rules of India.

9.4 Disciplinary Action
Company drivers who are convicted during the job for reckless driving, leaving the scene of an injured accident, hit & run, habitual offender or felony will be grounded for disciplinary actions.

9.4 Accident Reporting

9.4.1 Company drivers who are involved in any road accident whereby damage or injury has occurred shall stop and give his name, address and name of our insurance company. He must also obtain the name and address of the other party(s) involved in the accident, the identification of the motor vehicle and name of the insurance company.

9.5.2. Company drivers shall report the accident at a police station as soon as possible and within 24 hours of the occurrence. He must also notify his supervisor within the same time frame. The Supervisor shall in turn make a report to the insurance company.

9.5.3. A copy of the accident report shall be submitted to the EHS Coordinator.
