BIOLOAD IN STEAM

1.0 PURPOSE :
To provide a procedure to check the Bioload in steam.
2.0 SCOPE :
This gives a complete methodology to check the bioload in steam
3.0 RESPONSIBILITY :
The Microbiology department of QC is responsible for this check in co-ordination with Production and QA.
4.0 FREQUENCY :
Once in six month.
5.0 PROCEDURE :
5.1 Open the steam valve to flush out for 5 mins.
5.2 Pass the steam through the sterilised pipette into 100ml sterilised water for 5 mins.
5.3 Use sterilised rubber gloves for sampling.
5.4 Test the water for total microbial count as per SOP No. QC/MB/11/1.4 for DM water.
Limit :Should be free from microbial counts.
